The Windjammers 2 release date has been unfortunately delayed to sometime next year, disappointing fast-paced frisbee fans around the world.
Windjammers 2 is a revival of the early 90s franchise that continues its tradition of oozing '80s neon style. Essentially, the game is like a high-speed version of Pong where two players blast a frisbee back and forth at one another in an attempt to score a goal. First announced back in 2018, the game was made available to reviewers just a few months later and seemed to be on track for a 2020 release. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case.

Why Was Windjammers 2 Delayed?
The Windjammers 2 release date delay is largely happening due to feedback received from the developers during a recent Steam Summer Festival. While there was a lot of positive reception for the game, there were also some criticisms that had the developers concerned.
"You shared a lot of positive feedback on the overall direction of Windjammers 2 (game design, gameplay[,] etc.) but also mixed opinions that caught our attention," read a statement from Dotemu on Twitter.
"We analysed in depth all these mixed opinions regarding some stuffs including the lack of rollback for the online mode, which was unanimously praised in everyone's feedback," the statement continued. "We had to do something because Windjammers 2 online mode is also meant to encourage the competitive community to get into the game. We started to fix and add what were necessary. Nevertheless, these changes caused delays and as a result, forced us to postpone the release date to 2021."
What is the New Windjammers 2 Release Date?
The new Windjammers 2 release date will be sometime in 2021. The developers have not yet decided on a firm date. In the meantime, they'll be delivering more news about the game in the coming weeks and months, eventually announcing a launch date "whenever it's set in stone."
