Today Electronic Arts released a new cinematic trailer of the upcoming monster-hunting game Wild Hearts.
This time around, unlike the previous trailer, we get a cinematic portrayal of the concepts behind the game, which focuses on battling giant monsters with the use of unique and powerful gadgets that can transform into pretty much everything we need to give us an advantage in the battle.
You can check the trailer out below.
Wild Hearts releases on February 17, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It's developed by Koei Tecmo's well-known studio Omega Force, which is mostly known for Warriors/Musou games like the Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, and Warriors Orochi series, alongside the many licensed titles like One Piece: Pirate Warriors, Hyrule Warriors, or Fire Emblem Warriors. That being said, this is definitely not the studio's first stab at the monster-hunting genre, as it developed the Toukiden series as well.
Wild Hearts includes a lot of elements that fans of the popular monster-hunting genre are used to, but it also puts on the table its own twist with the use of the "Karakuri," a mechanic that lets players create a variety of gadgets and contraptions to help them in battle in a variety of ways. Today's trailer provides a look at some of their uses for traversal or as weapons.
The game offers co-op gameplay, which is also showcased in today's trailer, as a team of multiple players takes on the Golden Tempest.
The game is the fruit of an interesting partnership between Electronic Arts and Koei Tecmo, and it's certainly rather unique to see the Redwood-based publisher work with a Japanese developer. We'll see if this trend will continue in the future, providing developers from Japan with much-needed visibility and marketing support.
