This is not a drill and not what happened with Walmart last month. The SNES Classic pre-orders are now available. Considering the scarcity problem with the NES Classic Edition, your best bet at getting the console is pre-ordering it. The links to the various retailers are below.
You can pre-order the SNES Classic from the following retailers (all links are affiliated):
- Amazon (additional link, another page for the system) - Out of Stock
- Walmart - Out of Stock
- Target - Out of Stock
- Best Buy - Out of Stock
- GameStop - Out of Stock
- Play-Asia NOT LIVE YET
- B&H NOT LIVE YET
For those unaware, the SNES Classic Edition comes with 21 games, including the unreleased Star Fox 2. Plenty of classics are included like Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Kart, Super Metroid, and more. You can check out the complete list of 21 games in our article here. The console also comes with two controllers, unlike the NES Classic Edition that only had one.
The SNES Class Edition is a home console with those 21 games pre-loaded on it, which you just plug into the wall and your TV, and you're ready to go. There are no cartridges to worry about either. The console is also much smaller than the original, which is why some would refer to this as the SNES Mini.
The SNES Classic Edition comes out September 29th for $79.99.
