It's time to join the "club". Comedy golf game What The Golf is now available via Apple Arcade. The game will launch for PC via Epic Games Store in October and is also coming to Nintendo Switch this year.
Developer Triband describes What The Golf as "the golf game for people who hate golf". It's a deliberate subversion of the expectations of golf game fans. Each stage brings a new mechanic or level design quirk to the table. Some might involve knocking down obstacles, while others take the form of sports parodies or racing game pastiches. There is also some good old-fashioned classic minigolf if that's your bag. You can check out the trailer for What The Golf below:

Since this is a golf game for people who hate golf, you shouldn't expect too much precision in mechanical terms. Here's a list of gameplay features from the game's Epic Games Store page (we particularly appreciate the use of the word "golf" as a verb meaning "to hit"):
- More surprising new golf mechanics than you can imagine
- Epic golf boss fights
- Made by people who know nothing about golf
- First (and hopefully the last) game that lets you golf a horse
- Will NOT make you a better golf player
- Surprises!
You can grab What The Golf, along with many other games, via Apple's new Arcade mobile gaming service. This service lets you play the game on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. You can also sync your save across these devices, so you're lucky if you're an Apple ecosystem lover. Triband's comedy golf physics game will also be coming to the Epic Games Store on October 1st. The game is slated for a Nintendo Switch release later this year. No word yet on a release for other consoles or Steam, so we'll keep you posted on that.
