Ubisoft has announced the release date for its highly anticipated open world game Watch Dogs, after a delay moved Watch Dogs from the back end of 2013 to Q2 2014. After months of silence Ubisoft has released a new trailer that reveals the release date, May 27th 2014. The trailer went up early on Xbox.com by accident, and was removed. Ubisoft later officially announced the news with this trailer that you can watch below.

The trailer focuses on Aiden Pearce, the protagonist in Watch dogs. The trailer reveals that Aiden is trying to take down an ominous group that is responsible for the death of Lena Pearce, presumably his six year old daughter. Before this trailer little was known about Aiden or his motivations. The trailer also shows many side characters in the game and plenty of action. Of course Aiden's smartphone is also prevalent throughout the trailer to do a variety of things such as raise partitions, and cause blackouts as well as triggering explosives on cars.

Originally set to come out day and date with the PS4 and Xbox One Watch Dogs got delayed before release. Watch Dogs is now set to release on May 27th 2014 across PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U and PC.
