With the release of Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs last week the sales have absolutely skyrocketed! Ubisoft announced that in the past week they sold over 4 million copies of the game. This is across Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and the PC making it the title selling the most day one copies in Ubisoft history. On top of that it also managed to gain the title of biggest new IP launch in the UK beating out the second place competition by over double.

Alongside Watch Dogs a companion app named ctOS was released. This app allows you to interact with the environment of the multi-player mode using your phone as the main character does in the game. Because this app runs through the Uplay service it requires no purchase of the game. This allows mobile phone users to enter and affect their friends games on the go. This app has been downloaded over 1 million times since its release.

Watch Dogs was first announced at the Ubisoft press conference at E3 2012 and was originally slated for a release date of 19th November 2013, with the game now out it seems that gamers have deemed it worth the wait. Sadly gamers owning a Wii U console will still have to wait for this game, while no release date has been set they are still planning on releasing to the platform.

At launch issues bubbled up of Uplay authentication issues rendering Watch Dogs unplayable until resolved as well as problems purchasing the season pass of the game but due to Ubisoft support teams those are now all resolved.
