Ubisoft will be releasing patch 1.13 for their Cyberpunk game set in sunny San Fransisco on April 17. This title update adds new content to the game's pool of multiplayer content as well as some extra customization items and a new non-lethal weapon in the paintball gun. This info comes from a post by Ubisoft on the Watch Dogs 2 Steam Community page.
This Title Update is an especially exciting one for us to share with you because it’s the biggest free content update we’ve made to the game thus far, and it includes the brand new Showd0wn PvP gameplay. We’ve received a lot of feedback from you all that you wanted more multiplayer options in the game, and we hope you have a great time with this one.
In this PvP mode, you and a friend get teamed up against another team of hackers in objective-based gameplay that takes you to 15 different places on the game's map. You'll be tasked with one of three possible objectives: 'Steal the HDD', 'Doomload', which is a King of the Hill type mode, and 'Erase/Protect the Servers'. This mode also allows for matchmaking with randoms if the aforementioned friend is unavailable, and is specifically aimed at endgame players who have beaten all there is to beat.
Another new addition coming to Watch Dogs 2 with this update is online drone, motocross, and eKart races. These new races will have leaderboards so you can compete with other players. You'll also be able to get exclusive rewards based on your performance over the season.
Players will also be able to participate in the 'Loot Truck' event, centered around bright-red armored trucks that randomly spawn throughout the world. These vehicles can be hacked by you, but doing so calls in the boys in blue to collectively ruin your day. If you manage to hold them off until the hack is complete, you'll be walking off with a substantial sum of money you can then use to buy one of the 13 new clothing items in this patch or the new non-lethal paintball gun.
Other, smaller, tweaks and fixes coming to the down with patch 1.13 are "improved" effectiveness of explosive damage in online matches that deal damage based on the player's proximity to the explosive. Then there are some minor fixes that take care of some of the smaller bugs present in the game, including fixes addressing PC-specific bugs. For a full list of all the changes, you can go here to read them at your leisure.
Patch 1.13 will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC tomorrow.
