Warhammer 40k: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters Update XI (try saying that fast ten times) is upon us. It's adding a new enemy in the form of the debuffing Lord of Virulence, as well as new tutorials to ease the early game experience, changes to damage previews on enemies with high armor, and more.

First up, several changes have been made to the game's main menu. Here, you'll now find a setting allowing you to toggle Technophage enemies in a standard campaign, although they'll still appear in DLC missions. You can also turn off free items and Twitch drops if you'd like to play a clean game, and you can lock the graphics to 30fps if you wish (which should be good news if you're playing on Steam Deck, for instance).

As well as the plagued affliction-enhancing Lord of Virulence, new tutorials have also been added that explain how Action Points and ammo work, as well as a new tooltip that informs you of the consequences of falling off the map in the fight against Morgellus. Here's a hint: your Grey Knights aren't getting back from that one easily.

Warhammer 40k: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters Update XI adds a lot of little things to make the experience smoother.

A number of smaller changes have also been made. Damage previews on enemies with over 10 armor have been adjusted, and Grey Knights who have been wounded in missions will kneel in the Teleportarium, so you'll more easily be able to tell which ones are injured. Rather touchingly, Complex Games and Frontier have also updated Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters' credits sequence to include newer team members. We're a far cry away from Nintendo's Metroid Dread approach here.

Naturally, this update also contains an absolute onslaught of balance changes for missions, characters, and equipment. I'd strongly recommend reading through the Update XI patch notes if you're an avid Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters player, because you may well overlook some crucial balance change that could significantly impact your game otherwise.

Warhammer 40k: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters is available right now for PC via Steam. If you've already got the game, then Update XI should be available to download, so make sure to head in and check before you get another game started.
