Yesterday, Chucklefish announced that Wargroove has had an "incredible launch weekend" and that they have already broken even. They also announced that patches and Wargroove DLC are on the way, both in the short and long-term.

The first post-launch patch has been submitted and is currently going through approval. It fixes some bugs, such as online multiplayer AI sometimes breaking, Fog of War for online not working correctly, issues on surrendering on matches, and fixing the display of Japanese and Chinese characters.

In the longer term, the ability to skip battle scenes more quickly will be added, as well as the ability to force fast map movement to "always on". There will be tooltips and more information regarding effective/vulnerable unit charts, and in multiplayer, the host will eventually be able to add CPU players to fill a game. In singleplayer, the S rank requirements will be made available, as right now it depends on the number of turns it takes to complete a mission. Chucklefish is also working on making it more difficult to end a turn by accident, various multiplayer lobby improvements, and other bug fixes.

Chucklesfish also stated that the Japanese e-shop version of Wargroove is incoming, as well as modding and a PS4 version of the game. Wargroove DLC and larger content updates are also planned, with more information planned to be released at a later date.

TechRaptor has been covering a lot on Wargroove, with Techraptor's glowing review giving it a 9/10 and we talked with Chucklefish regarding how the game was designed, and how the factions came together.

Wargroove is available on the Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Xbox One

Quick Take:

While I like Wargroove, there is a lot that needs to be done to make it the great game that it could be. As it stands, it's a good game that needs a lot of help at the moment. For instance, why are there no methods of communication online? Why isn't there a server browser? Why does Quick Match only find games for two players? When can we fully mod the game? That's only off the top of my head, and I know there are more knowledgeable people out there with more questions and concerns. I'm looking forward to seeing how Wargroove turns out over the next few years, as Chucklefish is pretty good at post-launch support. We'll see.

What do you think of Wargroove? Have you bought it? What would you like to see as Wargroove DLC? Let us know in the comments!
