The Wandering Village release date is finally at hand, with the game becoming available on Steam's Early Access program on September 14th for PC, Mac, and Linux. It'll cost players $24.99 and is a city builder where the city is a giant creature that wanders around on its own. Yes, you heard me right: players will have to build a relationship with the giant creature in order to survive while also navigating the post-apocalyptic world they find themselves in.
What is the Wandering Village?
The Wandering Village is set in a world where mysterious plants are spreading across the Earth. The plants emit toxic spores, and a group of people seek refuge on a giant wandering creature. The player becomes their leader, attempting to build a settlement as well as a symbiotic relationship with the beast they are now depending on to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Players will need to farm crops to keep their villagers fed, send out foraging missions to gather rare resources, and scout the environment while expanding their settlement. Maintaining the trust and the health of the creature that the player and their village are living on is paramount.

The Wandering Village was successfully Kickstarted back in 2020, and the original The Wandering Village release date was set for the second half of 2021. That means that the game has been in development for 3 years now, which will hopefully result in a more polished experience compared to some other games that arrive on the Steam Early Access program.
If you're a console player and find this type of game right up your alley, the game will also be making its way to Xbox Game Preview in 2023. You can also wishlist the game on Steam or check out the Wandering Village's forum and Discord pages.
