The release date of The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series - A New Frontier has been announced by a Telltale in a press release.

The first episode of The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series - A New Frontier will be released on December 20th, 2016. The episode will be released digitally for PC (via multiple digital distribution services including Steam), Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android. Season 3 of Telltale's take on the post-apocalyptic zombie universe will have five episodes just like the previous two Seasons.

The plot of Season 3 will focus on the exploits of Javier, a young man who is searching for his family. During his adventures, he will come across Clementine, a major player in the preceding two seasons.

There will also be a special "Season Pass Disc" available in stores on February 7th, 2017 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The Season Pass Disc will include the first episode of The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series - A New Frontier as well as access to the four subsequent episodes as they are released. PlayStation 4 users can pre-purchase the game at the PlayStation Store and receive Telltale Games The Walking Dead: Season 2 and The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Miniseries instantly for free. Steam users can pre-purchase the game at a 10% discount.

Telltale expects Season 3 of their The Walking Dead games to receive an M rating from the ESRB. An extended first look at the game's first episode will take place live at The Game Awards on December 1, 2016.
