The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners has launched on PSVR... sort of. Things have been a bit wacky lately, and it seems like this latest game based on The Walking Dead franchise has sustained some shipping delays as a result.
If you're not familiar with this new The Walking Dead game, it's a brand new VR experience that has launched for Steam and PlayStation VR. Unfortunately, it seems that it hasn't quite made it to all of the regions of the world — and the developers don't seem exactly certain as to how this happened.
One Redditor asked a question about the game's status in Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, and other countries in a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session. The answer, suffice it to say, is a little disappointing for any Europeans anxious to play this new game.
"That's a great question, one that I wish I knew the answer to myself!" replied the game's Project Director Mark Domowicz. "Our intent was to release the game globally on the same day, but getting ourselves to market, like at all, was a strange challenge due to the global pandemic, and how it affected both our work and our coordination with PlayStation."
"At one point we had people here taking shifts on a [24-hour] cycle to ensure closest possible communication with the PlayStation release managers in Europe," he continued. "Anyway, we tried our best, but I'm not surprised [that] the reality of the pandemic tripped us up."
When is The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Launching in Europe?
A delay due to the ongoing pandemic is unfortunate but very understandable, all things considered. When will these few European countries be able to play it?
"[As] we speak, we are working very hard to get the product available in all remaining regions, and expect this to be solved within a range of 1 to 5 days," Mark Domowicz explained. "Really sorry to everyone this has affected. We love and appreciate the fan anticipation for our game. Please know that many people here and at PlayStation are working to get the game to you as quickly as possible!"
And there you have it. If you're in a country that hasn't yet seen the launch of this new The Walking Dead game on PSVR, you can probably look forward to it arriving next week.
