Telltale games have officially announced the release window for their ongoing series based on Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic book series. Since the game's reveal at this year's E3, the third installment has been renamed from simply 'Season 3' to The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series - A New Frontier.
While the name has been changed, the continuity has not. In this installment, we return to the adventures of the now grown-up Clementine. She is part of a new group of survivors that try to make a life for themselves in a world overrun by the perpetually hungry walking dead.
This third new season will serve as both a continuation of what's come before in our story, as well as an all-new beginning set nearly four years after the outbreak events of Season One.
As a harrowing and horrific drama, 'A New Frontier' will explore beyond what it means to survive in a world ravaged by the undead, and will see our characters confronting the new rules of order and justice in a land being brutally reclaimed and rediscovered by what's left of humanity itself.
-Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games
While Clementine will certainly be an important character, you won't be playing as her all the time. Instead, you will also take control as Javier, a family man desperately trying to keep himself and his family together.
When we began this series, we explored what it meant to protect a character like Clementine at all costs.
Years later, meeting her for the first time, Javier will begin to unravel the mystery of who Clementine has become, as her story intersects with his - both of them still driven by the things they value most long after society's collapse.
-Kevin Boyle, Executive Producer on the series.
The game will be available this November for PC, Mac, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, iOS and Android. While players on Windows and Mac can only get a digital edition of the game, players on consoles will be able to buy a special season pass edition on a disc that instantly gives them access to new episodes once they release.
