Fatshark has announced that a two-part story update is headed to Warhammer: Vermintide 2, and as of right now the base game is available completely free on Steam to keep.
In celebration of Fatshark's "7 Years of Tide", the developers have announced Vermintide 2 is free to keep on Steam from November 3, 2022, until November 7, 2022. That means for the next four days, players can snag their own copy via Steam for free and keep it indefinitely, unlike a free-to-play weekend-type deal that we usually see. November 30th marks the official release date for Fatshark's newest addition to the Tide series, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, so they believe that the perfect way to celebrate is to release updates to their previously released games, as well as make some of them free to the masses.
There will be plenty of activities and events added in as well, so there will be a slough of content for fans of the franchise to enjoy. On November 8, 2022, Fatshark will be releasing the first part of a two-part series of updates with the Vermintide 2 update Trail of Treachery, described to be a new snowy adventure mission. The second act of this two-part series does will be coming in 2023. You can expect to travel to the village of Tockstadt, where you will have to rescue the village, and find out what is there under the surface. The DLCs available currently for Vermintide 2 will also be 50% off for the entirety of the weekend, allowing players to snag some pretty cool cosmetic items and content they may have missed previously.
In addition to the updates to the previously released game, players will also be able to begin pre-ordering Darktide as of November 17, 2022, making this celebration even more enticing. Players who own Vermintide 1 or 2 will have access to a special cosmetic Darktide DLC upon its release, so that's an extra reason to add Vermintide 2 free to your library right now. To get your copy of Vermintide 2 and check out the DLCs and cosmetics available, head to the game's official Steam page.
