Paradox has promised more Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 info soon, as well as sharing a batch of new screenshots. The game is still in development, but Paradox says that we'll get to hear more about how that process is progressing in just a few months.
In a new post on its website, Paradox says that it's planning to reveal more about Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 in September, so it looks like you won't be hearing anything about it during any of this summer's showcases. As well as that promise, Paradox also revealed five new screenshots for Bloodlines 2, and it looks like those screenshots have replaced the ones that were previously on the game's Steam page and EGS page too.
The screenshots are mostly environmental rather than depicting gameplay, but they give a good idea of how Bloodlines 2 will look. First, here's a moody inner-city alleyway.
Next, here's a shot of a tree growing in a rather ornate-looking location.
The third new shot looks like a ruined slum-like area.
The fourth and penultimate new screenshot is a glitzy-looking bar staffed by a bartender.
Finally, here's a shot of a maintenance area that definitely has "nothing to see here" written all over it.
As you can see, there's not much revelatory here, but it's nice to see some of the artwork that's driving Paradox's process during the production of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. Let's hope that when September rolls around, Paradox has some solid, concrete info to share that will update us on the state of the game.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has a long and troubled development history. Officially revealed in 2019, the game was delayed later that year, then delayed once again in August 2020, shortly before narrative designer Brian Mitsoda was removed from the project.
In February 2021, Bloodlines 2 was delayed indefinitely and developer Hardsuit Labs was removed from the project as well. At one stage, it seems that Paradox considered canceling the project, but that a "convincing" pitch saved it from the scrapheap.
Paradox says that we'll learn the identity of the studio that's been working on Bloodlines 2 in September, and we'll also get "more information about the launch" then, too. Could a release date, or at least a release window, be incoming? Let's hope so.
Since it's been a long time since preorders opened for Bloodlines 2, Paradox also says it's offering a refund to anybody who's preordered the game. If you've preordered the physical version, you'll be refunded "proactively", according to Paradox, but digital preorder customers can choose whether or not they want to pursue a refund. You can read more info about how to claim a refund via Paradox's official FAQ.
