A new World of Darkness VR experience has been announced. Paradox Interactive's dark horror fantasy series has seen plenty of adaptations over the years. These span from beloved cult classics like Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, to disappointments like Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood, to a string of solid visual novels. No players can experience a more immersive tale in this world with Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice Announcement Trailer

The trailer for Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice was revealed at this year's Meta Quest Showcase. As the name implies, you take on the role of a vampire that stalks the streets of Venice in a stealth action RPG. The story involves you unraveling a conspiracy revolving around the murder of your sire. If you want to find those responsible and enact some dark justice, you will need to explore, fight, solve puzzles, utilize your various Disciplines, and make difficult decisions around who you can trust.

Overall, the trailer shows a wide assortment of gameplay elements. There are extended infiltration sequences with stealth kills and vampire powers, invoking Arkane's Dishonored series. In addition, the environment design takes advantage of Venice as a setting, featuring both appealing canals and opulent palazzos. As for RPG elements, the trailer didn't show much. It is unclear for example if you have the option of choosing your vampire Clan, and there are no branching narrative paths shown.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice is being developed by Fast Travel Games. This studio has experience in VR gaming, and their past work includes Apex Construct and Budget Cuts. They also have experience with adapting World of Darkness properties to VR with the horror adventure title Wraith: The Oblivion - Afterlife in 2021. The game will be available for the Meta Quest 2, the recently announced Meta Quest 3, and PSVR2 in late 2023. It will feature touch controller support as well as sitting, standing, and room-scale modes of play.
