Valve has announced what the top-selling Steam games of 2019 are, giving us a pretty good idea where some of the biggest games are selling.

As usual for Valve, they chose not to give exact numbers or rankings. Instead, they broke the games up into four groups, with the top 1-12th selling games going in the "Platinum" group, 13-24 going in "Gold", 25-40 in "Silver", and 41-100 in "Bronze." It may not be exact numbers, but it does give us a pretty good idea of what games are drawing crowds.

Platinum Ranking (top 1 - 12 games sold on Steam in 2019)

  • Civilization VI
  • The Elder Scrolls Online
  • Warframe
  • DOTA 2
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Total War: Three Kingdoms
  • Monster Hunter World
  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Seige
  • PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
  • Destiny 2
  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Gold Ranking (top 13 - 24 games sold on Steam in 2019)

  • Assassin's Creed Odyssey
  • Total War: Warhammer II
  • Halo: The Master Chief Collection
  • Resident Evil 2
  • Path of Exile
  • Rocket League
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
  • Mordhau
  • Devil May Cry V
  • The Witcher III: Wild Hunt
  • Dead by Daylight
  • Final Fantasy XIV

If you want to see the Silver and Bronze ranked games, or have easy buttons to buy them with, you can head over to Valve's list to check them out. One notable thing is the amount of Free to Play games on the list. Valve didn't reveal how they calculated those, but one would assume that it has to do with the amount of DLC and microtransactions sold. Regardless, it does give us a good chance to see what's really getting people to take out their wallets.

Do the top-selling games surprise you? Not all that shocked to see several free to play games here? Wondering how Grand Theft Auto V still manages to sell so much? Let us know in the comments below!
