Valkyrie: Drive Bhikkuni Coming to the West Uncensored by PQube

Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkuni - the game portion of Marvelous Japan's latest media franchise - will come to the west both physically and uncensored this year, thanks to publisher PQube Games. Valkyrie Drive takes place in a world where a group of girls infected by the Arms Virus either turn into a super-weapon called a Liberator Arms when sexually aroused, or have the ability to wield said weapons.

Gameplay in Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkuni is very similar to the developer's own Senran Kagura series (fan-favorite developer Kenichiro Takaki is also present on this project!), with it even sharing that series' famous clothes destruction mechanics and juggling gameplay. Players can enter the cast's dressing room Senran Kagura style to rub and touch the characters, leveling them up and improving their weapon forms' power. Again, all uncensored for the title's western release.

The game included a variety of gameplay modes in Japan, with not only the standard Senran Kagura-esque offline and online modes (online supports up to 4 players at a single time), but also a 2D battle mode that plays out a lot like a Super Smash Brothers title! Naturally, each of these modes will be playable in the western release, when Valkyrie Drive releases later this year in both the UK and North America.

Quick Take

At this point, I think it's safe to say that PQube is more than a little insane - though I'm definitely not complaining! Between bringing Gal*Gun: Double Peace and Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkuni to the west uncensored, and bringing a Vita exclusive like Valkyrie Drive to the west physically at all, it's hard to argue that the company hasn't found their niche. It's a little strange that the company is picking up XSEED Games' slack in this case (seeing how XSEED is the western branch of Marvelous, the developers of this title), but if this means that PQube is looking to pick up titles that others just won't touch, I'm sure that fans of niche Japanese titles will find a lot to love about the company going forward.
