There have been plenty of first-person shooters (nevermind those with zombies) on VR, but a big media property is finally going to be making its way to virtual reality. The Walking Dead Onslaught has been announced in partnership with AMC. This virtual reality first-person shooter will bring some tight zombie action to both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets.
As you go through the campaign, you'll be able to level up characters and unlock new perks to use against the walkers. Each of the characters in the game is going to have their own skills and signature weapons, just like the massive media franchise that this game is based on.
One of the highlights of The Walking Dead Onslaught is the melee system. Melee in VR has always been a challenge, but the fine folks at Survios have done their best to try to get the experience right. The footage looks a little bit rough as the game is currently in a Pre-Alpha state, but the developers may very well be able to pull it off before the game launches in the Fall of 2019.
The Walking Dead: Onslaught will be available in arcades and in retail for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets. You can expect this game to arrive sometime in the Fall of 2019.
