A mysterious scenario unfolds in Smilegate's newest game for virtual reality. ROGAN: The Thief in the Castle will have players trying to resolve a grand conspiracy to save the kingdom with guile, wit, and a little bit of swordplay on the side. A trailer packed with narration showed the player stealthily making their way through a castle filled with soldiers.
A Baroness has been plotting something vile, and it's up to you to save the kingdom from the wicked harridan and all who dare to follow her. The lord of the land has been murdered, and you must uncover the truth and save the kingdom. ROGAN will have you hiding, creating distractions, sneaking past enemies, and doing everything you can to tilt the odds in your favor. You'll be able to play ROGAN: The Thief in the Castle for yourself when it launches in July of 2019.
The plot gets a little more intense than that, though. Not only has Lord Conrad been murdered; you've been framed as the sole suspect. Thankfully, the titular thief Conrad meets you and is more than willing to help you clear your name.
Interestingly, ROGAN appears to take place in a world that seems medieval on its face but actually has several anachronistic touches. For example, these medieval-esque knights have walkie-talkies. Also, the Baroness' mouth is metal for some reason. It's certainly a strange and interesting title that's sure to provide players with a unique gameplay experience in virtual reality.
