Microsoft announced during their E3 2017 press conference that the Xbox One's backward compatibility lineup will begin including original Xbox games in the near future.

Phil Spencer announced that over half of all Xbox One players have taken advantage of the backwards compatibility feature on the Xbox One since it was announced two years ago, and 385 Xbox 360 games have been included to the service so far.

Microsoft also unveiled the Xbox One X at E3 this year, which comes out later this year.

Now, the feature will receive a new expansion that will allow you to play select original Xbox games on the Xbox One, including the game Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, which seems like it will be the first game that will take advantage of this expansion.

"I love you, Phil," a man from the crowd shouted towards the stage after this announcement.

Additionally, original Xbox games will look better and play better on the Xbox one, according to Phil Spencer.

After the conference, Albert Penello, who leads the marketing for Xbox consoles, sent a tweet stating that original Xbox discs will supposedly work on the Xbox One once the new feature begins rolling out.

The expansion will launch "later this year," and more will be announced for the service then.
