Sony announced during their E3 2017 press conference that Horizon: Zero Dawn will be receiving its first DLC expansion by the end of the year. The expansion is called Horizon: The Frozen Wilds and is being developed by Guerrilla Games.

Check out the full reveal trailer below:

While the trailer didn't feature any gameplay, it did drop a couple hints as to what this expansion's story might consist of.

First, the environment looks very snowy, but some of the landmarks shown in the trailer don't resemble any landmarks found in the game's current map. Therefore, it seems that this expansion might actually include a new expansion to the map, possibly even taking us to a completely different location altogether.

Another thing worth noting is that the trailer featured a lot of Banuk characters, and since the current Horizon: Zero Dawn map doesn't include any Banuk territory, this might be even further evidence that this DLC will take you to an entirely different area in the world.

The trailer also put a large focus on the volcano erupting in the background. I think it's safe to say that the story will consist mostly of Alloy trying to get to the mountain to find out the answer to some question she has.

Horizon: The Frozen Wild is coming sometime in 2017.
