Layton's Mystery Journey

Update: It has now been revealed via the Layton's Mystery Journey website that the Nintendo 3DS version will be released in the west in Autumn 2017.

Last year the next title in the Layton series of games was announced under the name Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone's Conspiracy, yesterday Level-5 announced that it would instead be released as Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire's Conspiracy. This title will be released for the Nintendo 3DS, iOS, and Android.

During the Japanese Nintendo Direct a release date of July 20th had been revealed for the Japanese 3DS release, as well as the worldwide release of the iOS and Android versions of the game. There is also a Nintendo 3DS western release planned but more information on that will be revealed in time. If you pick up the iOS or Android version there will be in-app purchases but Level-5 says that you don't need to buy any of them to be able to complete the game.

In Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire's Conspiracy instead of playing as Professor Layton himself you instead take up the role of Katrielle Layton, the daughter of the famous professor, who needs to go in search of her father. Level-5 released the following information about the game's story:

The story will focus less on dynamic problem-solving and more on solving multiple mystery cases observed in the everyday lives of Londoners, which will bring a faster tempo and more comical tone to the series. It will be more familiar — and funnier — than ever, while maintaining an adventurous quality. The creators of the puzzles and brain-teasers, the core element of the series, will also be new.
The puzzle in Layton's Mystery Journey are being designed by Kiniaki Iwanami, this change took place due to the death of the previous game puzzle designer, Akira Tago, in March of 2016.

Are you excited to see Layton's daughter coming to smartphones and the 3DS? Are you going to get it for mobile or are you content to wait to play it on your 3DS?
