With the release of the new Xbox One dashboard happening in only three days one of the biggest new changes that will also come is the beginning of backwards compatibility. Backwards Compatibility will allow you to play certain Xbox 360 titles on your Xbox One, and both digital and physical versions of these games can be played, although physical ones will trigger a download for it as it is not actually reading the game from the disk.

Some of the bigger titles that will be part of Backwards Compatibility include Halo: Reach, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and the Bioshock franchise. If you have one of these games, or one of the other Backwards Compatible titles then it is really easy to get them onto your Xbox One. If you have the title digitally then you need to simply go to your "My games and apps" section and scroll over to "Ready to Install" once you are there you can install your Backwards Compatibility 360 game as you would an Xbox One game. If you have a disc version of the game then you need to put your Xbox 360 disc in the Xbox One drive, your Xbox One will recognize what game it is and download the right game for you. You will still need the physical disc to be in the drive to be able to play the 360 version on your Xbox One.

It's also good to know that from this month on every Games with Gold for the Xbox 360 will also be a backwards compatible title so you no longer need to pull out your 360 to download and play them anymore. At the moment there is no Xbox 360 section to the Xbox One store so if you wish to purchase any of these games or redeem Xbox 360 Games with Gold titles you will need to use an Xbox 360 or Xbox.com.

If you don't see a game that you want on Backwards Compatible you can head to http://xbox.uservoice.com/  to either vote for what Backwards Compatibility titles you'd like to see, or if you don't see your game suggested then you can add it yourself.

Are you excited to see Backwards Compatibility coming to the Xbox One? Which game on the list are you most excited for?

Update: Changed that Halo Reach and other games mentioned in the second paragraph will not be available on November 12th but are planned for the future
