The games coming to Xbox Game Pass For Console this April

Microsoft has announced the lineup of games coming to its Xbox Game Pass For Console service this April. As the name implies, these are just the games you'll be able to download and play if you've got an Xbox One console. There's snow-bitten survival, retro Metroidvania, and plenty of other indie action to whet your appetite.

So, what's coming to Xbox Game Pass For Console this April?

On April 16th - that's tomorrow - you'll get access to the exploration-survival game The Long Dark. Unlike many other survival games, there aren't any monsters here; just you, a snowy wasteland, and nature's wrath. Five days later, on April 21st, you'll be able to play the charming retro platformer Gato Roboto, in which you're a cat controlling a suit of power armor. It's just as fun as that description implies.

April 23rd sees your Xbox One graced with Deliver Us The Moon. This sci-fi thriller takes place in an apocalyptic near-future. Earth's resources are gone, and a lunar colony that provides essential energy to the planet has gone silent. It's your job to go up there and figure out what's happening. Deliver Us The Moon isn't a lengthy adventure, but it's sure to keep you occupied for a good few hours in this strange time.

Finally, on April 30th, there are two games coming to Xbox Game Pass For Console. There is one rule in action arcade game HyperDot, and that is this: dodge everything. The aim is to keep dodging enemies for as long as you can and grab that elusive high score. You'll also be able to check out Levelhead, a platforming sandbox where the only limit is your imagination.

There's plenty there to sink your teeth into. Remember that on April 30th, you'll also be saying goodbye to some games on the Xbox Game Pass For Console service. Those titles are as follows:

  • The Banner Saga 2
  • Bomber Crew
  • Braid
  • Fallout 4
  • Full Metal Furies
  • Metal Slug 3
  • Ruiner
  • Silence: The Whispered World 2
  • Smoke and Sacrifice
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order

The official Xbox Twitter account is also one to watch right now. A somewhat cryptic tweet on Sunday suggests that there will be a few more announcements to look forward to this week. Yesterday's "forecast" of "Downloads Likely" appears to be referring to the pre-download of Gears Tactics. Today's reads "Backlog Index", which could point to the above Xbox Game Pass For Console announcements. Tomorrow's reads "What Wednesday said". We'll have to wait and see what that could be referring to. Stay tuned.
