Space dogfighting title Redout: Space Assault has been delayed indefinitely. It was originally due for release earlier this year, but developer 34BigThings says it needs more time to give fans the game they want.

34BigThings says it's sorry for delaying the game, but that it understands its fans have high expectations for Redout: Space Assault. As such, the team needs more time to add extra features and strengthen the game's storytelling. The studio says it will "keep working at the best of [its] abilities to create a game that will blow players away". In a blog post on its official website, 34BigThings says it now doesn't know when the game will come out or whether it'll launch this year.

Redout: Space Assault was revealed during E3 2018. The game is a spin-off of high-octane racer Redout and combines that game's signature adrenaline with thrilling space combat. On Redout: Space Assault's official Steam page, 34BigThings says the game was "born as a multiplayer experience" but will still feature a single-player component. Gameplay-wise, Space Assault is a tactical dogfighting game in which players must compete against one another in fast-paced space combat. Players can upgrade their ship and choose loadouts, working together to take down the enemy team. Check out a pre-alpha gameplay trailer for Redout: Space Assault here:

34BigThings is an independent studio based in Italy. The company's previous titles include fast-paced racer Redout, arcade action game Hyperdrive Massacre, and cute sporting "simulator" Super Inefficient Golf. If you're interested in Redout: Space Assault, you can still wishlist it on Steam. We don't yet know when the game will launch given this new delay. We'll bring you more news on updated release dates or further delays as we get it.

Dark Souls changed my life, and I'm here to spread the good news. I like pretty much all sorts of games, but I judge everything by its proximity to our Lord and saviour, Dark Souls.
