Metro Exodus photo mode is the newest announcement for a game that's already sounding pretty awesome. The new feature is being made for gamers who purchase Metro Exodus on both PC and console, although the PC version will obviously have access to a much more robust feature set.

If you don't know what photo mode is, it's typically a set of in-game software tools that let you take really awesome screenshots. You might be able to move the camera, adjust lighting, or add other sorts of special effects to get just the right kind of shot. The Metro Exodus photo mode promises the same and is a first for the franchise.

PC gamers who dive into the Russian wilderness will get access to bonus features as compared to console players—the PC version of the game will support NVIDIA's Ansel technology. While a photo mode might add in some new features for taking cool screenshots, Ansel ramps that capability up to 11. Unfortunately, we don't have much more in the way of details about the Metro Exodus photo mode other than the fact that we know it's coming. Still, it's pretty cool to hear about it!

Interestingly, the addition of Metro Exodus photo mode has been billed as the first of a series of announcements that are set to be coming out this week. I'm certainly curious to see what other surprises Deep Silver and 4A Games have cooked up for the latest entry in the Metro 2033 games! You'll be able to get your hands on Metro Exodus on February 15, 2019—one week earlier than anticipated. In the meantime, you can pre-order it or add it to your Steam wishlist by visiting the game's Steam Store page.

What do you think about the addition of the Metro Exodus photo mode? Do you think stopping the game to take screenshots will take you out of the experience? What features do you hope it will have? Let us know in the comments below!
