Undertale Soundtrack Vinyl Release

The Undertale soundtrack is being released on vinyl and is now available for pre-order.

Undertale is an RPG developed and published by Toby Fox. It's one of those games where you don't want to spoil too much of the story and lose out on the surprises it has in store for you. That said, it's essentially an RPG that remembers your choices and breaks many conventions of the genre including the option to avoid combat altogether and befriend enemies in various ways. You can check out our review of the game and get a better picture of it while avoiding most of the major spoilers.

Undertale Vinyl Contents
The vinyl Undertale soundtrack will feature two colored discs as well as a bonus 7-inch "Annoying Dog" disc if you pre-order by September 5th, 11:59 PM.

One of the points of praise for the game in our review as well as others is the quality of the soundtrack. You can purchase it separately on most storefronts where the game is available, but true audiophiles will now have the option to pick up the soundtrack on vinyl.

The soundtrack will ship on 2 180-gram vinyl LPs for $35. The album cover and interior features art from Drew Wise (although the order page stipulates that the art is not final). The two vinyl discs will be colored in "Pacifist Blue" and "Genocide Red" in a nod to different types of "runs" players try to complete in the game.

The music has been remastered for the medium by California-based Infrasonic Sound. While the game's soundtrack features over 100 tracks, this vinyl set will only feature 41 of the game's tracks as curated by its creators. A digital download featuring the complete soundtrack will be included with your purchase. People who pre-order the vinyl by September 5th at 11:59 PM will receive a bonus 7-inch "Annoying Dog Sound" disc.

The Undertale vinyl soundtrack is estimated to ship sometime in Q4 2016. If you'd like to pick up Undertale, you can buy it on Steam, GOG.com [Affiliate Link], and the Humble Store for $9.99 or your regional equivalent.

What do you think of the Undertale soundtrack being made available on vinyl? Do you think records have an appeal to them or are they just a dated medium? What's your favorite track from the soundtrack? Let us know in the comments below!
