Vicious Circle was unofficially announced for the first time on the Rooster Teeth Podcast "Ep. 526 - Are Feet Private?," but today Rooster Teeth Games released the first screenshots and an official press announcement for this "uncooperative" multiplayer shooter, which will come this year on PC. It's going to be a fast-paced shooter where four mercenaries compete for loot against a terrifying monster, and each other, in a sci-fi universe inspired by retro comic books with colorful visuals and a retrofuturistic art style. Michael Hadwin, Head of Game Development at Rooster Teeth, said about the upcoming title:
Our goal with Vicious Circle is to create something incredibly addicting and fun while staying true to Rooster Teeth’s sense of humor our fans have come to expect.
Every round, one player is selected to become a massive juggernaut creature with one simple goal: kill all the other four players. The mercs can work together as a formidable force, to divide and conquer, using their enhanced senses and powerful abilities to scatter their enemies in a panic, hunt them down, and pick them off one by one until there's no one left alive. While you can team up with rival mercs to survive, only the player with the most loot wins, so dirty play is a constant temptation. You can use your gadgets and the environment to mess with your adversaries, lock doors to slow them down, trap them in rooms with the monster, or take the loot out from under them. It's up to you whether to join forces against the monster that hunts all of your, or sneak around and wait for the chance to strike against the winner.
Vicious Circle is slated for a late 2019 release on PC. It will be playable to the public for the first time at RTX 2019 in Austin, Texas, July 5-7. You can see a few more screenshots and some other information about the game on the official website.
