Sony has just announced that in their upcoming Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection-which bundles Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy- the Collection will be arriving on the PS5 first on January 28, 2022. Right off the bat, you should know that you're only getting the single-player modes. There won't be any multiplayer included with the Collection.
More PC details such as specs and the release date will be unveiled at a later time. Right now it's just the PS5 release that we're focusing on, so let's get to it, shall we?
As expected of a more modern release, players will be able to choose from three different graphics options:
- Fidelity Mode: if you have a 4k display and want the best-looking option above all else then choose this mode. You'll be able to play Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy in 4K at a 30fps target framerate. Note that it says target, so we'll have to see the cool cats at Digital Foundry take this through its paces.
- Performance Mode: If you have a 4k display and want to play your game at 60fps, choose this mode. This is the high framerate patch carried over from the PS4, basically.
- Performance+ Mode: Perhaps the most interesting mode out all three, Performance+ Mode targets 120fps (if you have a compatible display, of course) at a 1080p resolution. This is Uncharted as you've never seen it before on a console, and it's going to hopefully feel great. We'll have to see.
You know what else is great? This new Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection trailer. Just look how good it looks:
The bundle will also include PS5 features such as Spatial 3D Audio along with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers from the DualSense controller. The bundle will be going for USD $49.99/€49.99 MSRP, but if you have purchased Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, or the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Digital Bundle, you can pay $10 to receive the PS5 remaster.
Interestingly, you'll have to insert the PS4 disc copies into the PS5 to download and play the PS5 digital versions. If you're a PS4 game disc owner of Lost Legacy or A Thief's End, then you won't be able to get the discounted price. Also, if you're like me and you own Uncharted 4 through PlayStation Plus, then you won't be able t get the $10 digital PS5 update either, which is pretty lame.
If you buy the bundle between now and February 3, 2022 11:59pm PT, players in select countries (Australia, New Zealand, UK, or US) can purchase or upgrade to the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and receive a voucher code for a single ticket to the Uncharted movie that's premiering in February 2022. For information on additional copies, stay tuned.
Update: While Sony usually delists the original version of a game for the complete one, like Horizon Zero Dawn, some folks have noticed that the only way to digitally purchase either Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy is through the above described bundle. The PSN store pages for the two individual games are no longer available. If you were looking to just get one of the games, your only option is a physical version.
If you want to know more about the PC release, it's still coming next year. Wishlist the game on Steam or on the Epic Games Store and stay tuned for more information.
