Ubisoft has released screenshots of its upcoming arcade VR escape room game Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time. The game was originally due to launch in various locations around the world in spring, but missed its launch date, likely due to the coronavirus pandemic.
What is Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time?
According to Ubisoft, The Dagger of Time is a virtual reality escape game which will allow players to "experience time control". It's designed as a co-operative experience in which collaboration between players is essential. Using powers of time control, as well as classic Prince of Persia parkour and puzzle-solving skills, you must find your way out of a reimagined Fortress of Time. You can check out the new screenshots for the game below. They show a few locations which will look familiar to Prince of Persia fans, as well as a group of players interacting with one another to solve puzzles.
Ubisoft says that Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time will rely on communication, and that "you cannot succeed without your teammates". Puzzles will require you and your friends to "interact with objects in [your] vicinity, climb, and use certain powers" in order to triumph. You won't need to have played any of the previous Prince of Persia games in order to enjoy The Dagger of Time; it'll be a standalone story.
Developer Ubisoft Düsseldorf says Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time will be available "soon" at a location near you. To find out where you'll be able to check the game out, head over to the official website and take a look at the list of locations. It'll be playable in over 300 places around the world, so there's bound to be somewhere reasonably nearby where you'll be able to experience the game when it does launch.
