Indie devs Chasing Carrots and PainDevs have announced a Switch launch date for their twin-stick shooter Pressure Overdrive. The game will be released digitally via the eShop on April 4th and will set you back $12.99.

Pressure Overdrive is an enhanced version of Chasing Carrots' 2013 "vertical battle racer" PressureOverdrive was originally released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One back in July 2017. The game's official Steam page describes Pressure Overdrive as "arcade twin-stick madness on hot wheels in a colorful bathtub-punk setting". Players can expect 30+ levels, local co-op multiplayer, and customizable buggies, as well as a high score table and two different game modes. The Switch version of Pressure Overdrive will allow players to team up via local co-op and Joy-Con controllers. PainDevs lead programmer Richard Wepner says he's "always wanted to realize a twin-stick shooter that is also fun using a controller with only one stick". Presumably, you'll control your buggy's movement with the analog stick and the direction of its weapon fire with the face buttons. Otherwise, it's the same game as it ever was, just on Nintendo hardware.

Chasing Carrots is a German game developer whose previous projects include turn-based strategy title Heart of Scrap, space trading sim Cosmonautica, and manage-'em-up Good Company. The studio is partnering with fellow German outfit PainDevs for the Switch release of Pressure Overdrive. According to its official website, PainDevs offers game programming, back-end programming, and build automation services, among other things. Previous clients for the studio include Wargaming.net and Caipirinha Games. Pressure Overdrive will be released for Nintendo Switch digitally via the Nintendo eShop on April 4th. In the meantime, you can still pick it up for PC via Steam as well as on PS4 and Xbox One if you're so inclined.
