Super Mario Maker 2 was first revealed during the Nintendo Direct from last February, showcasing the sidescrolling game creation system that will be the sequel to the original 2015 Wii U and 2016 3DS game, not a port. Last month, Nintendo announced a June 28 release date for the game.

Fans are eager to learn more about the sequel, and so Nintendo is having a Direct event dedicated exclusively to Super Mario Maker 2 tomorrow, May 15, at 6 PM EST. It will be a roughly 15-minute presentation packed with information" about the game. You can visit the official website and set up a reminder for yourself.

According to the information already available, the sequel will include brand new features, such as the Cat Mario suit, which allows climbing walls. Players can design levels specifically for this ability. It will also allow players to create levels from many of the franchise's eras, with dedicated visuals to resemble Super Mario World or New Super Mario Bros. U, and others. Every possible element, including enemies, obstacles, and items, will be available for players to design their own levels, which can then be shared with the online community. You'll also be able to choose from different characters, such as Luigi or Toadette.

So if you were looking for more information about this long-awaited game on the Nintendo Switch, be sure to check it out tomorrow on the Super Mario Maker 2 Direct stream at 6 PM EST. You'll be able to watch on Twitch, Facebook and YouTube. You can also stay updated on all things Nintendo on Twitter. If you didn't catch it last month, check out the announcement trailer for a peek at what the sequel will bring.
