Tokyo 42, an isometric open-world shooter developed by SMAC Games and published by Mode 7 Games, releases on Steam & Xbox One May 31, 2017, according to a tweet from the game's publisher.

This particular shooter is described by the developers as "the lovechild of Syndicate and GTA 1". The single player story is set in a futuristic version of Tokyo where you take on the role of an assassin working your way through a conspiracy buried in the heart of the city. If single-player gameplay just isn't quite enough for you, worry not - the game also has multiplayer gameplay available. Take a peek at what Tokyo 42's multiplayer experience is like in the Multiplayer Trailer released last week:

The game primarily focuses on shooting in an open-world isometric environment. Players will be able to teleport around the city to certain points, and they'll have a variety of different weapons to hand to fight their foes. The gameplay is accentuated by bullet physics and a crowd-simulation system that makes this futuristic version of Tokyo feel just a little bit more alive. Multiplayer will be particularly tense as you must blend in with said crowd Assassin's Creed-style in an attempt to build up your arsenal before you're discovered by one of the other players. Amongst your many deadly assassin tools is the Tracker Cat, a highly-trained kitty that is able to sniff out enemy assassins in the game.

If you're like to get your hands on Tokyo 42, you can pre-order the game on the Microsoft Store for $19.99 or your regional equivalent. PC Players can add the game to their wishlist on Steam, and PlayStation 4 players should expect the game to be available sometime in mid-July 2017.
