Are you looking to leave your world behind? You're in luck. Jumanji: The Video Game is coming to PC and consoles this November.
The official Jumanji game will be a joint venture between four companies: Bandai Namco, Outright Games, Funsolve, and of course Sony Pictures. You'll control "Jumanji's greatest heroes" as they search for the Jewels of Jumanji and attempt to find a way home. Along the way, you'll come up against scores of exotic creatures, an army of marauders, and deadly locations. You can check out the launch trailer for Jumanji: The Video Game below:
The trailer doesn't show much, seeing as it's just a teaser. We could well see more of the game at E3, but we'll wait and see. Jumanji: The Video Game will feature the four stars of 2017's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Players will choose from Smolder Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Franklin Finbar, or Professor Shelly Oberon. Each character will have unique abilities which players must use to keep one another alive. We can add this one to the pile of games where you get to play as The Rock. That pile is pretty much just WWE games, so some variety is nice.
Actual gameplay details are pretty scarce right now. We know the game will run on Unreal Engine 4, and that it will be multiplayer. You'll be able to team up with up to three other players either via split-screen or online multiplayer. Jumanji: The Video Game will feature brand new locations in the Jumanji universe. Developer Funsolve's founder and director Richard Tawn says the company has some "incredibly exciting features and reveals" coming soon, presumably during E3. Until then, we'll just have to content ourselves with this (admittedly rather attractive) 37-second trailer.
Jumanji: The Video Game will launch for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on November 15th. We'll bring you more on the game as we get it.
