Ticket to Ride

Asmodee and Days of Wonder have announced a partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation with the creation of Ticket to Ride: Play Pink, which is a first in the board game industry. All profits from the sale of this limited edition will go to support breast cancer research. As expected, it's a Ticket to Ride Pink Train Set, which makes sense considering this is endeavor is to support the BCRF.

“As a major player in the games and entertainment industry, we believe it is our duty to lead the way and help important causes like the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. We know how board games can bring families together in difficult times, and we hope that players all across the world will support breast cancer research by playing Ticket to Ride with this exclusive new set” said Stéphane Carville, CEO of Asmodee.

Ticket to Ride: Play Pink will be shipping in October and can currently be pre-ordered now for $5/5€. This new set of trains and stations can be used to with both Ticket to Ride and Ticket to Ride Europe, so while this is a gimmick to support a good cause, it's also a gimmick that you'll be able to use across multiple games, which is pretty cool. You can support a good cause and have something that you'll actually be able to use!

While some more experienced board game players may scoff how casual and easy to play the game is, Ticket to Ride is a pretty big deal. It has over 80 million players worldwide and even has a television show in development, which is... interesting, I suppose. That's not even mentioning how Asmodee is reportedly up for sale for two billion Euros, which definitely isn't a small chunk of change.
