Universal is getting a start with its own connected film universe with The Mummy, a remake of the goofy adventure movie franchise. If you're not interested in going to the movies to see Tom Cruise yell it up then you're in luck. Not one but three games based on the movie have been announced.

The first is The Mummy Prodigium Strike, a VR game in development by Starbreeze Studios. In this game you'll be in a helicopter and need to provide covering fire for your friends, battling ravens, spiders, and undead. At the current time the game is only planned for StarVR and can only be played at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles, where it will feature 4D experience-enhancing elements. There's no news if there is plans to port it to VR headsets you own at home right now.

The second game is The Mummy Dark Universe Stories which is a mobile game being developed by Oxenfree developers Night School Studios. The game will be an episodic game taking place after the events of the movie. You'll play as Nick Morton and the game will feature a choose your own adventure styled gameplay where you'll make choices and see how the choices change what happens. New episodes are planned to be released regularly. You can pre-regester for the game now and it will be released later this month.

The third and final game is The Mummy Demastered, a 2D metroidvania being developed by Wayforward for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. You'll be playing as an elite soldier who needs to bring down Princess Ahmanet's army and assist in saving the world. The game will feature environments like dark forests, military compounds, and London when it is being hit by a sandstorm. At the current time The Mummy Demastered is set for a late August 2017 release.
