Titan Quest is making its way to the Nintendo Switch.

The game, published by THQ Nordic, is the third console release of the class PC RPG, originally released in 2006. Previously the game had been released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in March.

The game, from Age of Empires co-creator Brian Sullivan and Braveheart writer Randall Wallace, is an action-RPG set in the ancient world. The plot revolves around a chosen hero of the gods who is tasked with defeating the Titans, who have escaped to earth and have begun to wreak havoc upon the world. Players will travel to Ancient Greece, Egypt and Asia to fight the Titans and bring back order to the world.

Some of the features expected in Titan Quest include a highly customizable character, with 28 classes and over 1000 pieces of unique and legendary items to create the ultimate champion of the gods. The game also updates the graphical engine, fully remastering the title with reworked textures and visual aesthetics. Another major change is adding console controls and user interface, tailor-made for the console versions. Online multiplayer is also available, allowing 2-5 players to join up in online co-op against the Titans and their followers.

Players can pre-order the Switch edition right now on THQ Nordic's website. The Switch version will be out on July 31st.

Quick Take

Titan Quest is one of those classic RPG games I remember player almost a decade ago on the PC. It was never a massive favorite of mine, but it was always a solid game in its own right. It is good to see THQ Nordic giving these older games remastered editions for both the PC and consoles.

I might even pick up Titan Quest for the Switch, it is a perfect fit for the system, and another good RPG to check out.
