THQ Nordic has announced a brand new SpongeBob game. SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake will see SpongeBob traversing colorful worlds in search of his missing friends. It's coming to PC and consoles soon.
What is SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake?
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a 3D platformer set in the colorful, psychedelic world of the Nickelodeon show. It'll revolve around SpongeBob and Patrick (who's been turned into a balloon), who must rescue their friends from 7 Wishworlds based on locations from the cartoon. Lots of fan-favorite characters from SpongeBob will be present, all of them voiced by their original actors. You can check out the SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake cinematic trailer below.
In your quest to rescue your buddies, you'll get the chance to wear over 30 costumes, many of which are based on iconic designs from the show. These include SnailBob, Spongegar, and many more. The worlds you'll visit include Wild West Jellyfish Fields, Halloween Rock Bottom, and others, so if you're a SpongeBob fan, you'll have fun spotting the locations developer Purple Lamp has included. Of course, as you go, you'll also hear plenty of banter between SpongeBob and Balloon-Patrick, all soundtracked by 101 songs from SpongeBob.
When is the SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake release date?
At present, we don't have a release date for SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. The announcement trailer and press release for the game both simply state that it's coming "soon", so it looks like we'll have to wait for more info about this one. It's a safe bet that if you were into Battle for Bikini Bottom, you'll find plenty to like here as well, though. Between this and the upcoming Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, you'll soon have plenty to get on with if you like playing SpongeBob games.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake was announced during the THQ Nordic showcase. Over the course of this event, we've also had reveals for Destroy All Humans! 2 and Jagged Alliance 3, as well as a brand new Outcast sequel, with THQ promising more to come. Here's hoping we get a concrete release date for The Cosmic Shake, as well as more gameplay details, in the coming weeks and months.
