This Is The Police 2 will be launching on PC and Mac August 2nd, developer Weappy Studio, and publisher THQ Nordic have confirmed.
The game is, as the name would imply, a direct sequel to the first game. A press release given by the two studios indicates that the game will be "a mixture of adventure and management", just like the first This Is The Police. According to the press release, though, the sequel "enjoys further mechanics that will strengthen both the strategic and tactical parts of the game".
This Is The Police 2 was originally announced back in April, along with a gameplay trailer. You can check out that gameplay trailer here:

The trailer shows off a mixture of familiar This Is The Police adventure game-style choice mechanics and the sequel's new tactical combat system. Combat in This Is The Police 2 looks a little like XCOM or Invisible, Inc. The outcome of combat will depend not only on how the player fares during the battle, but "on every decision you make". Weappy is also working on the character side of things, with your subordinates no longer being "just some resource" but "living people with their own strengths, weaknesses, fears, and prejudices". Players must balance these traits in order to ensure their squad's survival and maximize tactical efficiency.
This Is The Police 2 will also be launching for consoles "later this autumn", according to the press release. The game will be available for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and all Xbox One family devices, including the Xbox One X. No word yet on a specific release date for the console versions. We'll have more news in the coming weeks and months.
