If you're looking for a Halo Infinite Collector's Edition, you might be disappointed -- 343 Industries has confirmed that there is no "official" Collector's Edition for the game, although some retailers are offering up special bundles.

Halo Infinite has had a rather leaky lead-up to launch; the release date, Forge Mode details, and DLC plans all managed to slip out. Now, another rather interesting fact has emerged: 343 Industries has said that there is no "official" Halo Infinite Collector's Edition... but retailers sure have put together some interesting bundles.

Is There a Halo Infinite Collector's Edition?

No, there is no official Halo Infinite Collector's Edition -- but there is the "Collector's Steelbook Edition," and several retailers have cooked up something special on their own.

Let's start with the biggest special edition you can buy: the Xbox Series X Halo Infinite Limited Edition bundle will net you the game, an Xbox Series X console, and a controller for $549.99. Additionally, YouTube Jake Randall says that he has seen more than 80 of these bundles sitting in the back of a single Best Buy location.

A step down from that is Walmart's Halo Infinite Collector's Edition for Xbox over at Walmart which includes the following goodies:

  • Halo Infinite
  • SteelBook Case with Full Game
  • Set of 5 Patches
  • Plasma Pistol Replica Bottle Opener
  • Energy Sword Illuminated Collectible
  • Set of USNC Lanyards and I.D. Wallet
  • Art Print
  • Art Book

It sold out pretty quickly, and it also raised a lot of questions; these led to 343 Industries' Community Director Brian Jarrard commenting on the matter publicly.

"Since a few folks have been asking about this - I can confirm that while various retailers around the world are expected to offer their own custom bundles, there is not an 'official' Collectors/Ultimate edition for #HaloInfinite," Jarrard said in a tweet. "Check your favorite retailer for options!"

And there are quite a few options indeed. A step below the Walmart Collector's Edition is the Halo Infinite Collector's Steelbook Edition which seems to be the best "official" version you can buy, as a physical copy of the game in a steelbook. Walmart apparently couldn't resist spicing things up with its take on the Collector's Steelbook Edition by offering up a Mega Construx Halo Helmet with your purchase; unfortunately, this alternative version is also out of stock at Walmart. Other retailers such as EB Games Australia also have their own spins on the Collector's Steelbook Edition.

So, in short: while there is no official Halo Infinite Collector's Edition, there are plenty of interesting options available at various retailers. If you'd prefer to just get the game digitally, you can pre-order Halo Infinite for PC starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent via its official website.
