The Good Life, a freestyle RPG developed by White Owls Inc., has announced a new trailer, a publisher, and the release window for the upcoming title. Kickstarted last year by over 12,000 backers, the game is being developed by SWERY (Real Name: Hidetaka Suehiro) who is the CEO of White Owls Inc. and helped create Deadly Premonition, The MISSING: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories).
In the game, the player is Naomi, a New-York based photographer who finds herself in a rural English town called Rainy Woods. While it appears everyone is living ... the good life, for some reason the residents of the town are shapeshifters, and it's up to Naomi to uncover mysteries such as why they are shapeshifters and other secrets that are within the Rainy Woods.
Players will also work "quirky-but-satisfying part-time jobs to make ends meet", but if the player works too hard and overdoes it they will catch a cold if they don't practice 'self-care'. Players will be able to save money and live off the land by growing a garden, making friends (and enemies), and by riding a sheep around town. As an investigative photojournalist, the mysteries won't solve themselves, so you'll have to be thorough.
