Getting your hands on TES Online Crown Store items will cost you money, but that's going to change in a few months: The Elder Scrolls Online Update 30 will introduce "Endeavors," a new way to earn cash shop items through normal gameplay.

The Elder Scrolls Online is, as one might expect, an online game set in The Elder Scrolls universe. This MMORPG has a cash shop like many others, giving gamers the opportunity to pick up some premium items in exchange for real-world money. That's all about to change with the introduction of the new Endeavors system.

How Endeavors Let You Get TES Online Crown Store Items

Endeavors will let you earn TES Online Crown Store items without spending a cent, but that doesn't mean you won't have to do a little bit of work. As Eurogamer reports, this new system will be the first time that players can actually earn premium items through normal gameplay.

TES Online Endeavors are essentially daily and weekly quests. Logging in will give you a set of Endeavors to complete and they don't look all that challenging at first glance; here are some of the examples detailed in today's news post:

  • Steal or pickpocket items
  • Complete quests
  • Defeat enemies using Class or Weapon abilities
  • Sell items to vendors
  • Craft different types of items
  • Defeat different types of monsters
  • Harvest resource nodes
  • And many more!

If you're thinking about grinding out a few dozen of these quests, you're going to be disappointed: some sort of cap is going to be in place that will limit how many Endeavors you can complete within a certain time period. Completing an Endeavor will grant you the new "Seals of Endeavor" currency.

Naturally, the number of Seals of Endeavor awarded upon completion will vary depending on the day and the challenge of the particular Endeavor you've completed. Once earned, these Seals of Endeavor can be spent on getting any of the currently available Crown Crate Items including consumables, cosmetics, or even super-rare items like Radiant Apex mounts. It's also important to note that Crown Crate items earned via Seals of Endeavor cannot be converted into Gems.
