The home release date for Bandai Namco's upcoming entry in their well-known fighting series Tekken as been announced. Featuring a new story mode, more characters, extra balancing, and an online tournament mode, Tekken 7 promises to deliver an improved experience on the arcade version in the west when it releases on June 2, 2017, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (digital only via Steam).

Of course, this is 2017 and that means that there are multiple ways to buy Tekken 7, preorder DLC and console-exclusive content that was announced today by publisher Bandai Namco.
The Collector's Edition is their biggest piece available, available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This has a 12" by 18" statue of Kazuya fly kicking Heihachi in mid-air, along with a collector's box, a special steel book, the official Tekken 7 soundtrack, and a copy of the Day 1 version of Tekken 7. It is retailing for $149.99, although it appears that the Season Pass for the game is not included in this release.
Speaking of the Season Pass, it should come as no surprise that Tekken 7 will have one given this is 2017. Details for it are a bit scarce, but for $24.99, a grand 17% discount over buying the three pieces of DLC separately, you'll get new playable characters, stages, costume packs and a new game mode. There is also a special bonus 35-piece Metallic Costume Pack for season pass subscribers.
Of course, that isn't the end of content set aside from the main release. The first is the pre-order bonus, which features a character from Tekken Revolution on all systems. That's right, Eliza, the vampire, will be in Tekken 7, and all preorderers will get DLC access to her. Additionally, those who preorder on Xbox One will get a copy of Tekken 6, which has been given the backwards compatibility treatment to run on Xbox One.
PlayStation 4 owners who feel that Xbox One owners are getting too much of a good deal there may want to hold up as there is some PlayStation 4 exclusive content. PlayStation 4 owners will have exclusive legacy costumes from Tekken 4 and Tekken 2 for the characters King, Xiaoyu, and Jin. Additionally, they will have a special Juke Box mode where you can listen to classic Tekken music tracks and create playlists of Tekken music to listen to while playing.
