Today, Team 17 announced a new partnership and a new title between SMG Studio, which will bring the Australian studio's Moving Out, a 'chaotic' moving simulator under the Team 17 label.

It is being worked on in collaboration with DevM Games, a Swedish studio, and is in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It will feature action-puzzles and couch coop, where players will have to solve problems at a fast pace.

"Today’s announcement marks a key milestone," Ash Ringrose, Founder of SMG Studio said. "Both in the development of Moving Out and SMG Studio. 'When Debbie called me to talk about Moving Out we spoke for hours. I couldn't think of a better partner for the game than Team 17. The company’s games label is renowned for its indie portfolio, and for the support provided to studios around the world in bringing their games to market. We are looking forward to working with the team in the UK as we continue developing Moving Out, and we can’t wait to get the game into the hands of gamers heading to Seattle over the coming days."
The game features players moving furniture out of houses in increasingly wacky ways. Players can play alone or in the aforementioned coop mode, where they must come up with ways to solve fantastical scenarios and an interesting physics engine. Players will also be moving furniture in a variety of places and themes, from railroad tracks, busy roads, and an office filled with security cameras.
"I am really happy to announce the latest partnership for the Team17 games label," Debbie Bestwick, CEO of Team 17 said. "SMG Studio are an exciting indie developer to be associated with and Moving Out is the perfect title for us. We are looking forward to working together with SMG Studio to bring their chaotic moving sim to our rapidly increasing portfolio, and we’re proud to have it available to play this week at PAX West."
Moving Out is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC at a later date. For anyone interested in more information, be sure to check out Team 17's official Discord.
