Are you ready to return to Sylvarant? With the announcement of the Tales of Symphonia Remastered release date for February 17th, 2023, you now know when you can. The game will be releasing on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, so all of you lucky console players will be able to dive right in.
Interestingly, the game will be released in Japan a day early for some reason, but that's not too bad. After all, game releases used to be separated by months or even years across the world. Can you imagine that happening today with a major game release? I mean, I can picture the angry controversy very easily, but considering that would literally be lighting a massive pile of money on fire a la The Dark Knight's Joker, I don't think we'll be seeing that for a large-scale release ever again. With the internet being what it is, spacing release dates out like that doesn't make any sense.

Anyways, with the Tales of Symphonia Remastered release date only a few months down the road, you might want to know what you're getting into. Basically, while the story, setting, and gameplay might be a touch more primitive than that of Tales of Arise, if you're in the mood for a classic JRPG, Symphonia might just be it.
Symphonia is set on a dying world where a Chosen One will cause the land to be reborn. As Lloyd Irving, you'll be working with your friends to save "the fate of two interlocked worlds" that hang in the balance. I mean that literally too, as the game offers local co-op with up to three friends, which is pretty cool.
The game itself has improved graphics and gameplay, so hopefully, it'll be one of those situations where it feels just as it did nearly twenty years ago. A good example would be how Pokemon SoulSilver felt compared to the original Pokemon Silver version, although since Tales of Symphonia Remastered is a remaster, you might want to temper your expectations on that front. We'll have to see.
