Today Koei Tecmo announced that they would be releasing a freemium edition of their newest title Toukiden 2 named Toukiden 2: Free Alliances Version. This new edition will be free on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita and will allow players access to the games multiplayer where they can also team up with players who own the full game.
To take on the oncoming threat of the Oni players will be able to take on group missions from the Command Center in the main village of the game. From here you can set out on multiplayer missions choosing to fill your party with other players, NPCs, or ghosts of players that you have fought with in the past. Being a freemium game though don't expect free access of all of the content in the game, Free Alliances introduces a stamina level feature where you will spend stamina based on each of the missions that you choose to take a part of. Depending on the mission it may cost more stamina to complete than others. Each unit of stamina will take a full 8 hours real time to recharge and you begin with a maximum of three stamina.
Players will be able to purchase Gems through the PlayStation Store that can be used for a variety of purposes including:
- Recover Stamina to it's maximum
- Increase your maximum stamina capacity (Up to 8)
- Upgrade equipment
- Upgrade storage capacity of Material Chest
- Draw Mitama Tickets, these are used to change fighting styles.
