It was just announced live during Gamescom 2022 that Dune Awakening will be heading to the players. The trailer that was played showed off several stunning features of the game, such as the player jumping head first into the sandstorms with blades in hand.
Funcom and Level Infinite have teamed up to create this spectacle, where the world we know from Dune has been thrown right into our laps. You will be thrown head first into the action, where you must build safe havens to ride out the most destructive storms known to humankind. Not only will you need to survive the storms, but you will also need to evade the vicious and unforgiving Sandworms that will swallow you whole without a second thought. Tread carefully, as one could be right beneath your feet at any moment.
Explore the vast ruins and forgotten technologies from the past as you search fallen spacecraft for useful items that will help you sustain yourself. As the Coriolis storm shifts, you will be able to uncover secrets that others may have never seen before. But, be careful, the storm may shift once more at any time, and all will be lost.
One of the coolest aspects of the game is the harvester. Scour the lands for spice blooms, where you will then need to deploy your harvester to reap the valuable crop. As you do, you notice that invaders are attempting to reap what you sow with brute force. Defend your harvester at all costs, as it will be necessary to build relationships with other factions that you can use to your advantage.
Character customization is no issue in Dune Awakening, as you can consume the spice you collect to unlock the most powerful of abilities that you will need along the way. As the developers say,
"The journey is yours to shape."
There was a tease at what was to come previously by The Snitch via Twitter, but we now know that this game is confirmed and will be making its debut to the masses.
