The first weapons DLC, the Public Enemy Weapon Pack, for The Surge 2 is live now, bringing thirteen new weapons to the difficult action RPG. The new weapons cover eight different classes of weapons, offering more limb-hacking variety to players. Notably, Deck 13 have opted not to simply place the weapons in the shop for purchase; instead, players must hunt down unique inhabitants of Jericho, and take the new equipment by force. Included in the pack are weapons like the "Severed Rotor Blade" hammer and the "Codename: Zarathustra" punching gloves. The Public Enemy Weapon Pack is available on its own for 4.99 USD, or included for free with The Surge 2's Season Pass.

This isn't the only DLC coming to The Surge 2, either. In December, players will have an opportunity to acquire three new gear sets for their exo-rig, presumably acquired in the same way as the weapons. Then in January, a full-fledged story DLC titled "The Kraken" is coming, bringing with it new enemy types, bosses and new areas to explore. All of these add-ons will be available for individual purchase, though The Surge 2's season pass does come with a pair of exclusive weapons. Much like its predecessor, The Surge 2 already released the free Future Shock weapon pack DLC, adding four new weapons to players' arsenal.

If the support was shown for the slightly inferior precursor The Surge is any indication, Deck 13 and Focus Home Interactive plan on supporting The Surge 2 for weeks and months to come. In October 2018, The Surge received "The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented" DLC, a Wild West-themed arena expansion, almost a full year after the last DLC released. With The Surge 2 doubling down on its limb-hacking combat system as well as expanding on the RPG elements, we could well see expansions continue for a long time. The Surge 2's Public Enemy Weapon Pack is out now.
