Solstice Chronicles: MIA

Ironward’s tactical twin stick shooter Solstice Chronicles: MIA is launching July 26th on Steam. The sci-fi horror game takes players to the planet of Mars where they they can hunt monstrous Martians. Take a look at the newly released teaser trailer below.

This is the second title in indie developer Ironward’s Solstice Chronicles series. The developer’s debut game was The Red Solstice  currently available on Steam. The tactical squad-based action role playing game was set in the year 2280 A.D. in which Earth has become overrun by the STROL virus and the survivors have fled to Mars. There they establish a civilization run by powerful corporations and begin looking for a cure to the devastating virus. Unfortunately Mars is a hostile place and a violent storm and the quickly spreading virus threaten their survival, while both insurgents and the corporations desperately search for the cure.

In Solstice Chronicles: MIA players can return to Mars for a strategic twist on the classic twin stick shooter genre.  Left behind enemy lines, in a dead colony, a corporate marine must fight their way to safety. With a talkative insurgent drone companion by your side, players will battle to survive against wave after wave of Martian mutant attackers. The indie RPG features class-based skill trees, upgradable weaponry and various abilities for your drone companion.

The follow-up game underwent a crowdfunding campaign on Fig to get made, ending successfully in March. The project raised $32,305, counting post-campaign contributions with 512 backers. Since then it has undergone pre launch testing by its backers and is now nearly ready to launch.

Solstice Chronicles: MIA will launch on Steam on July 26, 2017. Its predecessor The Red Solstice is currently available for 70% off as part of the Steam Summer Sale. You can learn more about the games at the official website here.
